News & Events

  • Looking for something to do this summer? Are you interested in government, citizen activism, civics, current events, and/or international relations? Do you want to boost your resume and build your network? Then you should consider signing up for the World Affairs Council’s 2021 Summer Global Leadership Seminar! This virtual week-long, academic summer camp-style program will focus on Global Governance, Citizen Activism, and Constitution Building, with students participating in expert speaker briefings, interactive group activities, a formal debate, crisis simulation, and a week-long project where students will design their own constitutions in teams. Check out the Council’s website for more information (linked below) and a peek at the program brief agenda. Also, every year, the Council has full and partial scholarships available for Bodine students who would like to participate in this program!

  • Join this year’s World Affairs Club at Bodine! Even though we have to move online this school year, we will continue Bodine’s long-standing partnership and involvement with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia through the creation of this virtual club. Club members not only have access to all of the World Affairs Council’s high school education programs, like the International Student Summit, Student Debate Series (NEW!), and Education Speaker Series (NEW!), but will also have the opportunity to learn about world cultures and different countries through guest speakers, cultural activities (think: recipes for global cuisines!), exploration of current events, and presentations from fellow club members!Want to learn more? Email Ms. Trapp at for more information and the club’s Google Classroom code!
